Distributions in Africa
Dave and Candice Talbot personally distribute mobility devices in Africa each year, and we are always seeking contacts and partnerships with organizations in countries that are looking to distribute mobility devices to their people.
Please contact us for details on how we can work together, because different locations have specific requirements that will need implementation to assure a smooth distribution. Currently we are arranging shipments to Nigeria, Uganda, The Gambia, Malawi, and more soon

)You want what we have gathered?
New suggestions for partnering, and why.
open letter to recent request:
I have been thinking about my request for shipment funding help from you and thought I should give you a bit more information as to why I have requested this.
When we prepare a shipment, we have invested hundreds of hours in collecting, gathering volunteers, processing, fundraising, preparing documents, loading the devices and seeing that the container makes it to USA port for shipping.
I would also like to note that it is primarily myself (David Talbot) , who bring the greatest effort into raising the funds for shipping. We constantly are seeking family foundations, friends, churches and events to help raise the necessary funds, and these funds come dear. There are no corporate sponsors or other large giving partners helping us as of 2020. We receive no direct Rotary funding although we occasionally receive funds through Rotary district grants.
With this in mind, our C4A board is fully in support of creating partnerships that will help financially in the shipping process. We are experiencing good response from several countries and some of our shipments have been fully funded by the recipient NGO. This creates a very balanced partnership. And our participating partners have opportunity to take part in the best part of the entire process, the distribution!
All of the partnerships that are generated help us to continue to help poor regions to receive. But, it remains true that there are always people and groups (even government sometimes!) that can come along side to help pay for shipping.
C4A recently sent a fully funded container to one of your neighboring west African countries. They requested a basic valuation of the devices, not for customs but for a newspaper that was following the story. The container we shipped them had over 3,000 mobility devices and I placed a conservative retail value of these devices at over $140,000 USD.
In our history, we find that each item shipped, whether it is a wheelchair, cane or whatever, all come to less than $3.oo USD each to get to distribution point, $3.oo!
This is a simple request that if your district, with hundreds of people, can assist our small core group at Crutches 4 Africa, to continue our outreach and to provide mobility devices to as many people as possible, it will be most appreciated!
In conclusion, we are very grateful for the any assistance that can precede the arrival or meet it at the port.
Yours in service,

Recipients of mobility devices
Here are just a few of the recipients of mobility devices from our recent trip to Uganda. Often our partner organizations in Africa have identified long lists of people who need mobility devices.
