Providing Mobility
The realization that crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs exist in such abundance in developed countries that they are frequently considered a nuisance when no longer needed. They are often thrown away to pollute a landfill. So the connection was simple, collect here, distribute there. This is the focus of C4A.
Since those early days, C4A has collected and seen distributed 32,000 mobility devices (md’s) in 9 countries in Africa with other distributions in four countries outside the continent of Africa. Our initial goal is 1 million md’s delivered to Africa. Our full venture is to see that every mobility challenged individual on the planet has what they need to be mobile.
To this end, we continue to reach out into any and every willing community for assistance in collection. We continue our search for consistent funding to aid us in all aspects of this project, especially shipping. At the other end, (Africa) we have great demand for what we can provide and many willing and established partners to assist with distribution.
