This fellow can now get to the toilet and to the area where food is available. He was alone and abandoned in this hut until we came with a new set of crutches for him.
These are grateful Africans we met while arranging to deliver mobility devices.
Throwing away his broken stick and accepting the new aluminum crutches was better than winning the lottery to this man.
This is a Massai tribesman who was disrespected in his community for the only reason that he had a lame foot. He is now mobile and has a stronger position in his community and may even marry this year.
This is merely one load of crutches and canes that we picked up in Tanzania when Abercrombie & Kent partnered with us to move the mobility devices gathered in NYC and get them to Africa for us to deliver to those in need.
At the Kilimanjaro Airport everyone wanted to help us load the crutches into the van we rented and the A&K touring car which would take a load to their storage facility in Arusha until we could distribute our van load.
This is only part of the shipment that came from New York City and arrived in Kilimanjaro Airport where it cleared customs in record time at no cost to us and was stored close by until we could pick it up and get it distributed.
Airport personnel were amazed at this cargo. They were very curious as to what was going to happen.
